Playing Cat in The CAT
Morph, steal, break, leave, then come back as a feral to rescue the cages.
The cat side is the reason most people click The Cat Shelter. You spawn as a morph inside a building that wants you to stay, and your job is to stop staying. This page is the role loop, not a full route tutorial. Click-by-click exits live in how to escape. City behavior after the wall lives in feral city. Buttons and sprint habits live in controls.
You are not a DPS class. You are a small target with a pickpocket, an attack-break, and a win condition named “outside.”
The morph loop
Spawn. Look. Do not sprint down the loudest hallway. The first thirty seconds are for picking one plan: a toilet you can see, a caretaker you can steal from, or a caged teammate you can help later. Cats who open every door in the first minute paint a path for tasers.
Stay in cover when you do not have a tool. Peek when you do. If you get stunned, assume Arrest Cat is coming and do not waste the recovery animation on an emote. After a jail, the loop resets: spawn, pick one plan, leave. The role does not change because you failed once.
Learn the sound of Shift-sprint on the other team. Caretakers who know the role sprint into taser range. Your answer is not a fair 1v1. Your answer is a corner, a toilet, or a steal from someone who is not sprinting at you.
Pickpocket
Stealing is on the box. Keycards and weapons both come off caretakers. The card is the A-rank exit on the escape-route list. The gun is a B-rank spoiler on the weapons list.
How the role uses a steal: isolate one caretaker, take the card, hide it, walk the door you already chose. Do not hold the card in the open. Do not show it off in voice. The moment the lobby knows who has clearance, you are the marked morph.
If the pickpocket misses, leave. A second attempt on the same vet is how you donate a morph to the jail. Find a different angle or switch to a toilet.
Attack-break
Cats can break things with the attack move. The important break is the toilet, because that drop is the S-rank sewer exit. Other breaks exist as map knowledge; this page will not invent a list of destructibles the studio has not named.
Role habit: break only when the room is clear enough to commit. A toilet smash next to a shotgun is a bell, not a plan. After the break, you are in the pipe. Move. The sewer is the most camped space in the experience for a reason.
Hairball is the native poke between breaks and steals. Use it to interrupt, not to farm a highlight. Player-reported tricks around hairball timing stay marked as player-reported.
Angel RNG
Some rounds roll a rare Angel cat. Players report that the morph makes leaving easy. Treat it as C-rank luck: take the exit if it appears, never queue for it. The rest of your cat career is toilet, card, rescue, and tunnels.
This wiki will not publish a fake percentage. If a patch notes a rate, it will go on patch notes. Until then, Angel is a bonus morph, not a build.
Feral transition
When you leave, you do not win the video and then sit in a menu. You become a feral stray in the city. That is a second role state, not a credits screen. Standing in the doorway is how caretakers recapture you for free. Move into the city, learn the space on the feral city page, and decide whether you are looting, fighting, or going back for cages.
Boss Mafia Cat’s Golden AK lives at the feral base. That is a pass interaction for cats who already escaped, not a spawn-in rifle. If you do not own it, you still have stolen guns and whatever the city dropped.
Rescue
Rescued cats become accomplices. The role is not solo stealth forever. If a teammate is in a cage and you are free, you are the raid boss for that cage. Draw the guard, break the lock, and leave together. A group exit is an A-rank route because it scales with people instead of with luck.
Do not rescue into a death funnel. If three SWAT rifles are staring at the cage, create a toilet distraction first. The cat role is still about leaving, not about dying on the bars for a screenshot.
Habits that separate a useful cat from a loud one
- One toilet memorized, not five half-learned.
- One steal angle, not a highlight reel of misses.
- No card held in the open.
- No doorway AFK after the exit.
- Help a cage when you can, not when it is cinematic.
For the button-level version of sprint, attack, and pickpocket, use controls. For the route letters, stay on how to escape and the escape-route ranking.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for The CAT on Roblox.
What should a cat do first after spawning?
Pick one plan: a toilet, a steal, or a future rescue. Do not sprint the loud hallway. Details are in how to escape.
How does pickpocket work on the cat role?
Isolate a caretaker, steal the keycard or a weapon, then move. Holding a card in the open paints you as the marked morph.
What is the attack-break for?
Breaking a toilet is the S-rank sewer exit. Use it when the room is clear enough to commit, then run the pipe.
Is Angel cat a real strategy?
It is real RNG, not a strategy. Leave if you roll it. Learn toilet and keycard for every other round.
What happens after I escape?
You go feral in the city. Do not stand in the doorway. Read feral city and come back for cages when you can.
Where are the cat controls listed?
On the controls page. This role page is the loop: morph, steal, break, leave, rescue.
